Knowledge points

OneClass launched the KNOWLEDGE POINTS to reward the contributions made across the site. Whether you enjoy answering questions or uploading documents, each contribution matters as counts to earnKNOWLEDGE POINTS.

⚠️WARNING: Each contribution must go in accordance with our contributor guidelines and is subjected to be removed.

You can also see where you stand among other contributors on the Weekly Leaderboard but that’s not all! At the end of each week, the contributor with the most points at the top of the leaderboard earns an additional $25, with cash prizes for the remaining top 5 contributors as well.

Levels

Levels are a way to let others know how expert you are.

Benefits

Each level comes with its own benefits but a certain amount of KNOWLEDGE POINTS is needed:

Badges are colored leaves that everyone can see next to your username and they identify you as a top contributor.

Earn more points

Points can be earned with a variety of tasks which are divided into Bonus and Regular.

Terms of use

The leaderboard resets and starts again every Monday at 12:00 AM UTC. Right after each reset, the top five Contributors are selected and their contributions for the previous week are reviewed by the OneClass team.

Although we give our Contributors plenty of room to be creative with their answers and uploaded documents, we do have a set of guidelines and rules to follow in order to qualify as a leaderboard winner. This means that while reviewing, a Contribution might lose points or get demoted from the leaderboard. See the "Rules of selection" below for more information.

When this happens, the demoted Contributor will receive a notification detailing the reasons behind their demotion and the immediate next in line will take the place of the demoted Contributor and so on. This process usually takes a day or two, therefore the leaderboard winners can expect the following timeline:

Monday at 12 AM UTC: The leaderboard resets and starts again.
Monday - Tuesday: the OneClass team reviews the top 5 Contributor's profiles, removes all not qualifying contributions and assigns (if necessary) the final winners.
Tuesday: The winners are announced via the OneClass Newsletter and the Contributors WhatsApp group. The winners also received a personal email.
Wednesday: The winners see their leaderboard rewards within their Insights > Revenue page.

For any Contributor to cash out their earnings, whether they come from the leaderboard or the revenue sharing program, they must have added a valid PayPal address to their profiles and have at least 25 USD by the 8th of each month. The cashouts are done automatically on the 8th of every month to all the contributors that have at least 25 USD in their balance but for those who do not have enough to cash out, their balance will continue to accumulate earnings for the next month.

Rules of selection

In order to qualify as a leaderboard winner, a Contributor must:

Give answers that do not violate points 2, 3 and 4 of the "Contribution guidelines" section "What not to do".
Upload documents/post answers that provide expertise and authority, as described in the "Documents approval" section of the "Contribution guidelines".

The following are reasons why an answer might get hidden and the author lose points:

Plagiarism. The answer is found to be plagiarized from somewhere else.
Copied answer. The answer was copied from another Contributor and posted as own or posted multiple times to earn more points.
Ludicrous answer. The answer does not make sense, is irrelevant to the question or is written in a language other than English. This includes answers such as "Hi, my name John!", "Who else is new here?" or "I do not know the answer to this question".
Lewd or hateful language. The system has a blacklist of words that cannot be used in the answer because of their intimate or lewd nature.

The following are reasons why a document might be removed and the author lose points:

Plagiarism. The document is found to be plagiarized from somewhere else.
Not relevant. Review the "Documents approval" section to see what types of documents are valid.

At some point during each week, usually Thursdays, a quick review is performed on the current top Contributors. If the above behavior is found in one or more of them, their contributions will be hidden, their points deducted and a warning will be issued. If by the end of the week when the leaderboard resets, the same Contributors that received a warning are found to have continued with the same behavior, they will be demoted from the leaderboard and notified.
